How Does PPF Work
During the PPF process, we apply a thick and completely clear thermoplastic urethane film to your vehicle. This unique material is virtually invisible and incredibly resilient, acting as a powerful shield that protects your car’s paint from scratches, rock chips, UV rays, contaminants and chemical damage.
PPF can be applied to the entire surface of your vehicle. In most cases, however, we apply it onto painted surfaces, mirrors and headlights, with the see-through coating having virtually no impact on light intensity.
Once in place, PPF has a naturally-occurring gloss to it which is what creates that showroom shine and is why it’s so prized by high-end and luxury vehicle owners.
How Long Will PPF Last
Once applied these unique protective films can last for years or even decades without being replaced, helping to eliminate damage and maintain that new car look.
Many of the products we use also have multi-year warranties in place in the unlikely event that your PPF experiences any issues. In many cases, we can also replace small areas with PPF should they suffer from any major damage.
Additionally, PPF is entirely self-healing, meaning that the naturally occurring heat from the sun and your engine actually warms the material enough that minor scratches and damages are removed as the material becomes more pliable and automatically fills in scratches, marks and imperfections.
How Much Does it Cost to Apply PPF
Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to our PPF services. The price varies based on your vehicle, needs, area and the specific product you use.
That being said, at Getty Automotive we pride ourselves in being one of the most professional PPF providers in the Ottawa area. And we stand by our work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
